Insect Condo

Today, we used some old logs to build a home for insects.  Our farmhand, Will, who is permaculture certified, suggested the idea, picked the logs out, and drilled holes.  He used a variety of drill bit sizes and depths all over the logs. We’ll inspect it in a few weeks to see if it’s working.

Will also mentioned using the cardboard from empty paper towel rolls surround by hay for insects. I have a large space under the garden deck that is not being used, so we are going to add more insect condos under this shady spot.

This is a neat website that I found pertaining to insect homes.  This bug hotel looks great.
