Bugg’In

Attracting beneficial insects into the garden has become an important focus as we completely redo the space.  At first, we were going to only make the insect habitat out of old logs with drilled holes of various sizes.

After seeing the craigslist.org ad for clay pipes, I knew that these would be the perfect, permanent “look” for underneath the garden deck.

Clay pipes have been transformed into permanent homes for a variety of insects, called Bugg’In (Saturday, May 27, 2017).  The pipes are filled with collected paper towel and toilette paper rolls, twigs, small logs, and hay.  A few more materials will be collected and added later, such as bamboo and moss.
