Oak Woodland

An Oak Woodland forest on the hillside of Ben Lomond Mountain includes trees, such as Live Oaks, Tan Oaks, Walnut, California Bay, and pines.  Shrubs include Hazelnut and Arrowroot.  The Live Oaks tend to lean and fall due to hillside erosion which opens up the hill to additional sun exposure where periwinkle and scotch broom have invaded some of the space.  A deer fence maintains a wildlife corridor in the back of the farm, and the space is left untouched except for occasional tree trimming.
