It was important to place a sink close to the bee hive in Bee Haven to provide a water source for the bees. My friends Hans mentioned that I can make floating rafts for them out of wine corks. Fortunately, another friend had a bag of corks that made the perfect little rafts attached together with wooden skewers.
Bee Fountain with wine cork rafts
The solar fountain was something I purchased from Amazon as a feature to use without an electrical source. I was not sure how or if it would work well, but I was willing to try it. Unfortunately, the fountain sprays too much water out of the bowl so water has to be refilled on a daily basis. I have removed it from the sink to also see if the bees will land on the rafts.
