Whimcycle Bike Art

The idea to paint and design kid’s bikes started when I wanted to use four bikes for the wings of the dragon fly gong. Due to being aluminum, they could not be welded onto the propane tank. Instead of taking the bike frames to the recycling, I created WhatChama-Hoozits Grove.

I love the look of bike art, and I put the call out for free bikes and picked up six. Because I am giving three bikes to friends (Chris, Lisa, and Shawna), I thought of their favorite colors and specific styles. I put much more effort into painting unique patterns, adding bobbles, beads, and jewelry, and extra goodies, like sea shells, golden chicken eggs, and cacti. So much fun and so Whimcycle!
