New Transformation – From Deck to Stone

It’s been a long process to transform the “sun deck” into a new space. When we first built the deck between the house and garage, we opted for recycled redwood. We got about five years worth of time before it sunk and rotted.

We cut it apart and decided to add a hot tub with a cement pad.

After the CZU fire and having a consultation with the local fire department, we decided not to add a full deck again. We comprised between smaller decks coming out of the rooms, and then filled it in with river gravel.

Yesterday, we finally finished the design with new plants, gorilla bark, and our little ceramic quail for a bit of decoration. We love the look and how well it matches the front of the house.
