I was looking back over time to see when I started building this 3-system compost bin: December 2020 and January 2021. Reflecting on my goal to use recycled wood, time ticks by because I just finished the second door today. Only 7 months later! The second bin is almost full so it was time to build a door to close off the space and start the third bin. I’ll build a door for that too, eventually!!!

I had the frame of the door made about two months ago, except for the middle because I did not have any more used lumber, such as 2×6 redwood.

My friends Rick and Rich were milling lumber so I got a call to come salvage their scraps and clear space. I ended up with truck loads of usable redwood.

This wood enabled me to finish the door.
