More Work in the Garden

Today was really productive and really hot.  I was able to complete another border with clay pipes, around a fruit tree.

I started by digging out the gopher wire and shaping the bed and walkway:

I decided to put locust logs in each of the four corners.  Starting in the front which is the lowest point:

DSCN3304After the front, then I added clay pipes to the left side.  The walkway needs to be 3 feet wide to fit a wheelbarrow. I was so excited to see what it’d look like with the cedar wood chips that I stopped doing the pipes and layed down the cardboard, bringing in 3 loads of chips:

 

DSCN3305DSCN3306DSCN3309After adding the chips, I finished adding the clay pipes around the fruit tree bed. I dug out the walkway and added the soil to inside the circle.
