In order to protect the chickens from a bobcat that walks around during the day, I wanted to raise the redwood fence around their outdoor run. The idea came to make an artsy fence and continue the spider web motif in the rings of wine barrels.
About a month ago, I made two spider web rings and attached them to the fence:
Whenever I have time, I’ve been making more rings using beads, animal bones, jewelry, and blown glass which adds texture and shimmer. Today, I was ready to build another part of the fence and attach some “butterflies” that I’ve been making with nails, rebar ties and marbles.
I have 3 gates to enter the space, I use redwood branches as posts. Eventually, I’ll add new arbors like the main entrance and rebuild the gates so they are high doors. This post was placed in the space, but then I realized it was too thin for adding an arbor on top. It was changed out and then cut to size to match the height of the other arbor.
