Over the Christmas holiday, four Black Locust trees fell on our neighbor’s property. As luck would have it, we got permission to cut the wood we need to finish the garden beds. A friend who’s a professional tree cutter graciously agreed to come over on a Sunday morning to cut the pieces. Yesterday, I spent an hour in a tangled mess of tree limbs trying to measure all the pieces, between 5′ and 13′ long, and notch out the marks with a hatchet. Everything worked out, and I’m excited to start building more beds before spring.
