It was a perfect Saturday for handyman Rich to add a new shelf to the greenhouse. The original shelves were used in the chicken coop. The 2x4s were left over from building the garden gates, so no materials had to be purchased.
I also had old fence boards bought at least 8 years ago from a friend who was tearing down a fence. I’m glad they could be put to use.
The shelf looks great, it has the rustic vibe that fits perfect with our style.
The legs were made with special turned, old growth redwood that I bought from our local antique store. I can’t resist architecture salvage pieces. They’ve been stored for many years, and I knew eventually we’d find the perfect way to use them.
While Rich was over, he also finished the last Black Locust branch gate to keep the chickens in their zone. They look natural!
