Folky Bird House

I planned to add a birdhouse to the top of a post.  It became the perfect opportunity to use up leftover wood like 2×2 redwood deck pickets and siding.  The box is much larger than I had planned, measuring 2′ x 2′.  After building the box, I realized that it would like gigantic on the top of just a 4×4 post, so I bought a 6×6 instead for better balance.

There’s a metal box inside of the wood box.  Another way to use up stuff.  The roof will have to be added later, after it’s installed, because it’s heavy.

Front of the birdhouse using recycled items off a broken rocking chair, door knob, drawer pulls, apple limbs, etc.  A lot of priming and painting!

More to be added next weekend!
