The sink arbor was installed today, and it really looks great behind the bee hives.
The vintage enamel sink was free, but it sat out in the driveway all winter. As soon as the rain stopped in early April, we started to work on the area behind the bee hives by digging back the hillside, building a 16′ retaining wall, and adding gravel. The sink arbor was planned as part of the wall with 12′ redwood 4x4s for the arbor. The top of the arbor was designed to match the other two arbors as part of Bee Haven. The plywood was left over, the metal wasp was a find from the Santa Cruz flea market years ago, and the two shelves were salvaged from my friend’s chicken coop which she torn down.
Everything came together perfectly!
