Retaining Wall Gravel Day

On July 21, 2019, 6 yards of River Gravel were delivered from Central Home Supply in Scotts Valley.  River Gravel is similar to drain rock, but it’s less expensive.

Today, Will Burke and his brother Aden helped me with the retaining wall.  We started by nailing on the roofing paper to protect the redwood, and then sloping the perforated drain pipe behind the wall.

Will and Aden brought over the gravel, and then I cut and layered the redwood.

Each 2×6 was added with a small gap for expansion and then leveled.  The wall was built layer by layer.

By 3pm, we were finished for the day.  It was a hot day, and the guys were tired.  I’ll continue with the wall over the weekend.
