We were fortunately gifted with three sets of worm bins and many trays to layer higher with food scraps.
I set up the bins about a month ago and started with worms from the Compost Bunker. I added shredded newspaper with the food. About two weeks later, Will Burke gave me more worms from his bins.
Before using the worm bins, we threw our food scraps on the hillside to compost. Now, we have a stronger system to actually collect the worm castings and keep the yard tidy.
