Rain Barrel Water Catchment

When I bought the black, plastic tube for the septic riser, they only sell a 5 ft. length. I only needed about 2 ft. so what to do with the leftover? I have two plastic rain barrels and decided to make stands for them. I cut up white PVC irrigation pipe, spray painted the pieces black, and screwed them on the top. I love the idea of everything being plastic so nothing will rot. I added the spigot by drilling a hole and sealing it with a 2-part putty.

After the first rain last week, 1/3 of the barrel was full of water off the huge chicken coop roof. I’m going to add the second barrel here for the overflow. The intention is to use a hose and water the green waste compost bins.
