Little Steps feel like Big Progress

The greenhouse stairway has been in our thoughts for awhile as we dream and imagine the potential for the space. Last weekend, we started digging out the dirt and placing the old telephone poles and beams as steps. These poles have been stored in the horse corral since 2005, formerly held up a wall in the garden by the previous owner. We knew they’d go perfect here to roll a wheelbarrow over them.

As luck would have it, our neighbors are having tree work done and Huerta’s Tree Service drove over to ask if we wanted the wood chips. We gladly accepted only chips, no mulch with leafs, and they dumped 3 big loads for us to use and finish projects, such as the stairway.

On Sunday, we finished the stairway, and it’s a great addition to the greenhouse space and up to the third tier with the art studio and apple orchard.
