The kitchen has been a work in progress for the last 5 years. To read about it’s progress, visit our page: Outdoor Kitchen
With an eventual goal in mind, specific items were purchased used off craigslist.org (stove, sink, refrigerator) while other gadgets were given to us (pull out shelves, disposal, faucets).
Our wonderful handyman/carpenter drew plans and created a wood list. Items were purchased from Big Creek Lumber and Scarborough Lumber in advance.
The framing of the cabinets for the outdoor kitchen went from Monday, September 17 – Wednesday, September 19, 2018.
The sides of the kitchen were framed using 2×6 all heart redwood and the corners are 6×6. I had built the compost bunker using this style, and I wanted to do it again.
The kick board at the bottom of the cabinets was made with pressure treated wood and the inside boxes were made from 3/4″ plywood.
The seams of the plywood cabinets were covered with redwood.
It’ll take a week for the doors to be made, and the materials are 1×8 shiplap (aka V-Rustic).
The holes were cut for the sink and propane stove which were put in place until the cement countertops are made.
